Nepal: Baseline Survey
A part of Integrated Development Program in Pragatinagar And Devachuli Village Development Committees (VDCs) in Nawalparasi, Nepal 2008
Pragatinagar and Devachuli VDCs have suffered much when it comes to agriculture in general and irrigation facility in particular. Additionally, the area is also facing problem of much use of chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizer. As a result of which, the trend of organic farming has been pushed back, the people explained during our visits.
SOIR-IM is planning to support the community/ the farmers to grow organic food. To start with, irrigation has been considered as an entry point.
This survey is conducted so that we will be able to evaluate the changed situation; we expect to achieve in a couple years. We are aware that this survey may not be the complete solution for all our future evaluations. Nevertheless, we believe that this work will serve our purpose to optimum level.
